Why work from home

2020 is the trendiest year of the digital age. Many wanted to find work opportunity where they can still be with their family. A recent survey of 2,000 working professionals and 1,000 hiring managers by LinkedIn found that 82% of workers want to work from home at least one day per week, and 57% want to work from home at least three days per week. This is more than a half of the portion of working population and it grows more per year.

ROADBLOCKS TO WORKING FROM HOME While the demand for online jobs surge up, more and more people are interested to do the work within the comfort of their homes but many can't afford to do it for the following reasons:

1. Know How - Interested, has the capability and machine/technologies ready but don't know how to start. Based on the survey I conducted through FB group (Work From home - Virtual Assistant), under a poll question, many respondents select the problem with "Know how" as they don't know how to start working from home.

2. Opportunity - It's a struggle for them to find legit online jobs. With the demand of internet as the easiest and fastest way of marketing a business, a lot of scams are surging as well, thus, making them hard to figure out if it's legit or not.

3. Capacity - As we all know, financial is the major roadblock for most of our fellow Filipino, they are willing to learn but has not machine or technology to use i.e laptop and internet.

The list goes on but so far, listed above are the top roadblock which, if address would definitely would change the world upside down. SOLUTIONS FOR AT-HOME CAREER ROADBLOCKS

On this article we will look for the solutions on the above roadblocks so many Filipinos get an equal chance of working from home. I believe it all start with a discipline, knowing your priorities, and proper management. Below are just few of the benefits that we can get from working from home. 1. Flexible schedule. Basically you manage your own time. 2. Custom environment. You can be anywhere at any time. Be at the beach or out of the country. You can customise the office set up from lighting to sound - of your choice. 3. Cozy clothes. Freedom to wear whatever you are comfortable with. Less expense and stress free life. 4. It’s easier to make calls. You won’t have to scramble to find a conference room or deal with a particularly chatty co-worker. (Granted, kids and pets at home can make this tough for some remote employees.) 5. Knock off some weekend to-do’s. That Mt. Everest laundry pile waiting for you? Cross. It. Off. 6. No office distractions. Avoid co-workers debating why Cardo is still alive or should ABS-CBN franchise will be renewed. 7. Zero commuting. From bed to … bed? Hey I’m not judging, it’s nice. 8. Save money. Lunch is expensive if you work in a metro. At home, you can save big time by going to the store and preparing food. 9. Forget crowds and traffic. No stuffing yourself into a rickety transportation tube, having people scuff your new shoes, or walking behind agonisingly slow people who apparently don’t know what a straight line is. 10. More time with loved ones. Take care of a sick significant other at home, be ready for your kids earlier in the day, get some extra snuggles in with your doggo, or simply get some quiet time to yourself!

With these being said, I would encourage everyone to take the leap, if you wanted to change your life for the better, it would all start from your willing to sacrifice and invest; time, effort and money coz, there is no shortcut to success. Greatness is within your door, it's all up to you if you want to take the chance, grab it or stay and complain.
